A Critical Crossroad has been created in consideration of the needs of the debate on what kind of choice should be made between the parliamentary system and the presidential government, and more significantly, how these terms should be defined. This book is a compilation of articles suggest that the political systems should be constructed on the institutional definitions instead of specific people, the representing mechanism should be established more accurately in terms of the legislative power for a institutionalized democracy that becomes a part of Turkish political culture, the ongoing engineering on the political systems may cause an instability contrary to what is believed, and the stability by all means of the word can be ensured only by a fair and liberal seperation of powers rather than the unity of power.
